The Cairngorms National Park is the newest in Scotland and the largest in Britain. It is sparsely populated and distances between the communities can be large. This Association of Cairngorms Communities draws its membership from communities within and bordering the National Park.

Formerly the Association of Cairngorms Community Councils, it has now opened its doors to other community groups and aims to widen its membership to express and represent the views of all in the wider National Park area.

The Association offers a forum not only for communities of geography, such as Community Councils, but also for communities of interest and of identity.
